Trail Days is a festival held each year in May, the weekend after Mothers’ day, in the Appalachian mountain town of Damascus, Virginia.

Trail Days celebrates the Appalachian Trail, the hikers, former hikers, and aspiring hikers who converge there each year.

There will be music, children’s games, an unusual parade, a hikers’ talent show, people-watching, bike rides, hikes, workshops, lots of food, and other family-friendly activities… only to name a few. This makes Trail Days one of the most popular small-town events in the State of Virginia!

What can I say? I love being out in the Backcountry. I am the crazy guy that likes hiking and camping in bad weather. One of my all time favorite hikes is the Appalachian Trail. • I have been to Traildays for 4 years now and it is the most fun you see old friends you have hiked with and meet lots of new friends great trail town also.

  • I still stay in contact with people I thru-hiked with in 03, that’s the great thing about the AT, and Trail Days. I’m still in shock with how much the Methodist Church in Damascus did for hikers on Trail Days. Very cool
