So often we forget one simple item in our backpack, rope. If you are in Bear Country and there is no system for hanging your food, what are you going to do. You certainly can’t put your food under your sleeping bag.

I think backpacker.com put together a video on how NOT TO hang a bear bag. Granted the end result was successful but they mentioned it took them nearly 45 minutes to do it.
