Here is an epic journey unlike any other in the Selway-Bitterroot Wilderness. Over its nearly 50-mile distance along the Selway River, this mainline trail crosses two USFS ranger districts on two national forests, transecting some of the wildest remaining country in the lower 48 states. At the Moose Creek Ranger Station, in the very heart of the wilderness

Great video! Wow! I’m going to be backpacking from Selway Falls to the Ranger Station – Airport at the end of March. I’m curious if it’s possible to fish the river that time of year. Any ideas? Looks like you guys did your trip around the June time frame? Again, really cool video – that’s a home video that is actually FUN to watch! Haha.
From Selway Falls to Moose Creek is all catch and release – no barbs. You can keep two fish a day from Moose Creek but I do not remember the season!
Where was the start/finish of this trip? We’re coming up to float the Lochsa and want to add two nights backpacking afterwards. Any suggestions? Will be mid-June.
