This was a six day solo hike through the Mazatzal Mountains of Arizona in spring of 2009. It is a hike that I first attempted in 2006, but failed to complete due to weather and exhaustion. This year I completed the full 80+ miles and brought back footage to prove it.
There are several popular trails in this area including the Half Moon, and Rock Creek Trails in Barnhardt Canyon. The trails take hikers along the northern edge of the mountain range.
No permits are necessary to hike or camp in the wilderness area, but there is a 15 person group size limit enforced year round.
