How to Care for a Waterproof, Breathable Jacket

Here are some quick tips about how to wash and care for your breathable shell. Jason Klass recently visited the Gore-Tex Experience More Blogger Summit in Delaware, Pennsylvania, and Maryland.
Jason runs a web site called Gear Talk with Jason Klass. An excellent recourse for gear reviews and specialty subjects, (like this one) about backpacking.
I’m sure some of you are getting sick of videos from my Gore-Tex experience, so I’ll back off for a while (even though I have a lot more cool footage to share). So for now, I’ll just post this one about how to restore the DWR coating on your jacket. This applies to any garment with a DWR. It’s pretty simple but I think you’ll find it useful.

JASON….THANK YOU FOR THE INFORMATION….IT IS APPRECIATED. I HAVE AN EXPENSIVE GORETEX JACKET AND LOVE IT….AND I DO PLACE IT IN THE WASHER AND DRYER. WORKS AS WELL TODAY AND IT DID 5 YEARS AGO.
